Operation Money Pump Review

While it’s not strictly Portal Feeder related, PF members are definitely involved in affiliate marketing, as are many non-PF members, so I felt like this product was related.

I didn’t see a lot of pre-launch hype for this product, Operation Money Pump.  That’s either because there wasn’t much, or because I’ve opted out of most “guru” lists.  Still, I got an e-mail from one of the self-appointed experts telling me I should check it out.

Lately, I’ve been very careful with even looking at new internet marketing products, much less buying into the hype.  When I checked out the sales letter, I thought it looked a lot like many of the other affiliate products that have been released recently: Affiliate Rockstar, etc.

I went ahead and plunked down the money, though, because I wanted to see more about what this person had to say, and I wanted to be able to give my readers a more through review.

Overview

Overall, Operation Money Pump looks to be a solid product.  There is not a lot of fluff or filler in this 67 page e-book.  Using fewer page breaks probably could have condensed this only to around 60-62 pages.  Very solid content for the price.

This e-book was written by “Mr. X” which is supposedly the same person who did the Affiliate Black Book a few years ago.  Mr. X. claims on page 4 that he is an internet millionaire.  The sales letter shows examples from his Clickbank account of days where he has made $5,825.42, $11,375.56, even $25,078 in a single day.  Very bold claims which, if the CB stats are real, are very impressive.  If you can have a day like that every week even, it will very quickly add up to real money.  If you can do it every day… well, you do the math!

Coverage

As mentioned, he does this through affiliate marketing.  This book focuses mainly on being an affiliate, but there is also a healthy section on creating your own product and getting affiliates to sell it for you.  It’s nice to see both sides of the coin covered.  Operation Money Pump also includes a great introduction to internet marketing in general and affiliate marketing more specifically, for those who may be new to the internet marketing game.  Other topics include choosing your niche, building a list and getting people to opt in, then how to communicate with your list, creating quality landing pages, branding yourself, using blogs in your marketing, PPC, SEO — both offsite and onsite, and creating pre-sale buzz.  As I said, it’s very thorough!

Who is this for?

I’ve read a lot of affiliate how-to manuals, and this one did not contain anything earth-shattering.  Of course, there hasn’t been anything earth-shattering in affiliate marketing for several years now, so that should not be a surprise.

What this book does give you is a very solid, easy-to-read, and very updated guide to affiliate marketing.  Mr X. calls it a “blueprint”, and while the steps are not numbered 1 to whatever, he does make it very easy to follow though the steps.

I would not recommend this book to experienced internet marketers, but for anyone starting out, it is well worth the $67 price tag.  Even if you started a while ago, and have gotten lost, or have not seen the success you planned to see, you should give it a go.

Like the book states very clearly at the beginning, affiliate marketing is work, and it’s hard work.  However, if you apply yourself, and you have a guide like this one, you will greatly increase your chances for success.
